WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, let’s start with basketball – we have an Inside The Lines feature with new Miami signee Kyshawn George you don’t want to miss.

We also catch up with RB signee Mark Fletcher for how he’s preparing for his Miami arrival, and he could be in store for a big immediate role. Then we continue our post-spring position by position in-depth breakdowns, with the linebackers in focus. And also check out our item breaking down Miami Hurricanes LB Francisco Mauigoa, who earned a post-spring special mention from On3.

There was this as well – Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson was in Gray, Georgia on Monday morning to see Hurricanes 2024 quarterback commit Judd Anderson as Miami’s coaches hit the recruiting trail for the evaluation period. We have that update. We also update 4-star TE Kylan Fox, whose Loganville, Ga. school got a visit from tight ends coach Cody Woodiel. WR coach Kevin Beard was also out west checking out a trio of Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral High School prospects – 2025 unranked quarterback Ashton “Dash” Beierly and 2025 tight end Jacob Alvarez as well as unranked 2024 receiver Stacy Dobbins. Plus Woodiel offered Calhoun (Ga.) 2025 four-star tight end Emaree Winston Monday after watching Calhoun’s first day of spring practice. You can read all about that.

And we have a recruiting update with Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall 2025 offensive tackle Will Black, a massive 6-foot-7, 295-pound offensive line prospect with a 6-foot-10 wingspan. He now has a Miami offer.

The baseball team also beat FAU, opening up a 12-4 lead and hanging on to win, 12-9. You can read about that including post-game feedback.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

The # of Transfers from year to year.. Posted by swaggerforlife

will begin to dwindle.. you are not going to see Mario Cristobal take 10 – 15 Transfers every single year that hes here.. Thats Madness.. Over the next say.. 2 to 3 years.. the Transfers Being taken will Drastically Fall and This Will be a Program built mostly on the Back of High School recruiting…. and I agree with you sir.. A program built on the back of High School Recruiting is more Favorable to building a Portal program.. Portal Transfers yearly..might be 1 or 2.. and only if those are Absolute Studs!

The Reason we’ve had to Turnover the Roster via the Portal the way we have is cuz Diaz left a Train Wreck in the Locker Room..and Mario has had no choice..in order to not “WIN NOW” but “IMPROVE NOW” The portal is the only way to go… Again..No Choice

This last run of 5 – 10 guys.. will be the Final “Wave”.. last Purge.. however you want to classify it.. of Major Roster Turnover.. And It will not be easy.. This last chunk.. in my opinion.. are going to have to be basically thrown out.. bc I dont see them leaving Voluntarily..

Why was Manny Diaz so Portal Friendly.. Because the man couldnt Recruit worth a Damn!!! Which is why we hired a Recruiter..

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The offense (run attack) looks very similar to what we did at Heritage, just different names. It looks like something I can do. Coach (Shannon) Dawson told me he wants to run the ball, and that the only way we open up the pass is with the run. That’s all I wanted to hear.”
