WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, there’s a lot.

The NFL Draft has wrapped up, of course, and we brought you all the Hurricane-related draft news from over the weekend.

There’s our ongoing second transfer portal coverage with new names to monitor and five visitors over the weekend … plus three commitments … so you can check out all the latest there. Also find out about a couple of key visitors that will be on campus today.

We continue our position by position post-spring in-depth breakdowns, so check out the situation with RB, WR and TE.

Then there’s our latest Message Board Mania feature, this one looking at fans’ perception of Shannon Dawson after he led the nation’s top offense in 2024.

In recruiting?

We take a look at some under the radar recruits falling outside the top 300 that Miami’s chasing in this year’s class.

More updates for you:

Miami’s staff has ramped up its recruiting effort for top-20 2026 defensive lineman James Johnson since the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 1 defensive lineman transferred from North Fort Myers to local powerhouse Miami (Fla.) Northwestern this spring. Find out how those efforts are progressing.

Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park four-star 2026 receiver Corey Barber has largely considered SEC schools so far in his recruitment, but Miami has maintained a steady presence in his group of top schools this spring.

There’s an update on Bradenton (Fla.) Berkley Prep top-100 2026 offensive tackle Johnnie Jones as well. He has a UM OV set and updates the latest.

We also shift gears to the 2027 QB board and who Miami is chasing there with where things stand.

Plus the baseball team had its weekend series at Boston College and we have those recaps for you.

Oh, and there’s basketball portal news, too. The team’s new-look roster continues to come together under Jai Lucas – the Canes landed a commitment from former Georgia guard Jordyn Kee.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

“I definitely like Miami for sure. They wouldn’t be in my top six if I didn’t like them. When I got down there they made me feel like I was at home, made me feel like I was a priority. So Miami’s one of the schools at the top of my list for sure.”
