WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

There was the partial scrimmage on Saturday, of course, and we had feedback from Mario Cristobal off that. The team returns to the practice field again tomorrow with the Spring Game set for Saturday at 4 p.m. at Cobb Stadium on campus.

In recruiting be sure to check out today’s Inside Canes Recruiting Podcast breaking down all the recent news.

And there was, of course, the big news over the weekend that Jonesboro (Ga.) four-star cornerback Jontavius Wyman flipped from Georgia to Miami. We brought that to you. And be sure to check out our five players that Miami’s now trending up with.

We also catch up with some key visitors off their weekend visits to UM, including Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star 2026 running back Jae Lamar, Buford (Ga.) four-star defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright, Lucas (Tx.) Panther Creek four-star 2026 receiver Jalen Lott and New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr three-star 2026 cornerback Hayward Howard, Jr.

And there’s a coach’s take you don’t want to miss on recent three-star offensive line commitment Joel Ervin. Fort Myers High School head football coach Sammy Sirianni is one of the longest-tenured and winningest coaches in Sunshine State history, and he has some major takes on UM’s future lineman.

More updates for you:

This June, some of the top high school quarterbacks in the country will compete for the Elite 11 crown in Los Angeles. Among that group will be 2026 Miami Hurricanes commit Dereon Coleman, who was officially invited to the event Saturday afternoon. He shares his thoughts with us.

Nashville (Tenn.) Donelson Christian Academy four-star 2026 tight end and Tennessee commit Carson Sneed took his deepest look yet into the Hurricanes’ program at the end of last month, and we chat with him.

We also catch up with Mineral City (Ohio) Tuscarawas Valley four-star 2026 offensive tackle Ben Congdon. Just because he committed to Miami in early March, that doesn’t mean other programs stopped chasing him. He shares where things stand.

Plus there’s an update with Naples (Fla.) First Academy On300 receiver Jayden Petit, who visited recently, as well as an update on a new offer that went out to Quitman (Ga.) Brooks County three-star 2026 cornerback and Georgia Tech commit Traeviss Stevenson.

In basketball we look at some questions former coach Jim Larrananaga is asking you, the fan. Also there was the news from over the weekend that Ernest Udeh, Jr. came on board as a transfer from TCU. We brought you that.

And the struggling baseball team took two of three in a weekend series at Pitt, so you can catch up on how all those games went.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Ben Congdon Miami Hurricanes

“I feel pretty good (about committing to Miami). Just love seeing coach (Alex) Mirabal and coach (Mario) Cristobal coaching, they’re just really good coaches. I’d really love to be under them. …Just the way they teach, just the way coach Cristobal and coach Mirabal get after it, the way coach Mirabal coaches up his meeting rooms, just all around a great coaching style.”
