WHAT’S UP TODAY
This morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
We continue our Miami Hurricanes 50-1 countdown series with No. 44, safety Markeith Williams. Find out why he is ranked there and what he can do to be ranked higher.
Plus there’s plenty of recruiting news, as usual.
It starts with 3-star DL Deyvid Palepale, who has an offer and visited this past weekend. Find out what the 3-star from Landisville (Pa.) Hempfield is saying.
Then there’s Huntington (W.V.) 2024 three-star offensive lineman Robby Martin, the No. 1 prospect in West Virginia. He included Miami in his top eight schools as the Hurricanes continue to recruit the No. 462 overall prospect in the class. He shares his thoughts.
Miami also has increased its communication with Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft 2024 three-star receiver Jay’Quan Bostic, whose interest in the Hurricanes has skyrocketed over the past two to three weeks. Find out what he’s talking about.
Miami (Fla.) Central 2025 four-star quarterback Bekkem Kritza may be relatively new to South Florida after making the move from Southern California this spring, but the Miami Hurricanes have made a strong impression on the gunslinger early on. His take?

Defensive coordinator Lance Guidry offered a trio of underclassmen Texas targets on his trip to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex this week as the Hurricanes’ coaches stay on the recruiting trail. We have your update and feedback on that.
Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood Academy 2024 four-star EDGE Marquise Lightfoot also is keeping Miami among his top schools as he’s locked in his official visit date. The No. 60 overall prospect and No. 5 EDGE in the On300 talks with CaneSport.
Plus Miami is turning some attention to junior college recruits for the Hurricanes’ 2024 recruiting class, including Butte College tight end Connor Gilbreath. So don’t miss what he’s saying, either.
We also had a basketball update for you. After going from a regular starter to finding himself barely seeing the floor, former Miami Hurricane guard Lonnie Walker was the unsung hero for the Los Angeles Lakers in their 104-101 win over the Golden State Warriors in game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals after a remarkable fourth quarter performance. So read about that.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Is the roster becoming too back heavy? … Posted by Robj3411
Only 9 seniors and 50+ players that are underclassmen….
just seems like a nightmare to manage in the next few years without a major purge (or 2).
it even appears that they will have to send 2-3 kids packing just to make room for a couple of badly needed portal additions.there is not a lot of “fat” on this team to cut. You are not cutting starters (and contributors) and you are probably not cutting any freshman or probably any of last years recruits. So that really only leaves a handful of guys to “show the door”
my fear is that we will cause a traffic jam at some positions, like RB where you now have 6 running backs (5 are technically FR) that you probably when healthy all want to come back, how do you recruit more?
CB is the same, the best athletes are FR and you now have like 8 CBs of which maybe 2 leave….
I really thought the portal strategy would be to get older players like Cohen and Lee to come in for a year or 2 until the kids grow up, slightly puzzled to see them recruiting FR and SO that will take a spot for 3 years potentially
