WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We have a lot of our football team analysis for you.

There’s our Miami Hurricanes top 5 breakout players prediction, and we break down why we have Ryan Rodriguez at No. 5 and Malachi Toney at No. 4.

We also start our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. We start with No. 50 today.

From Friday, of course, there also was the news Miami landed Rutgers LB Mohamed Toure – we brought you that with analysis.

Plus there’s our latest Message Board Mania feature with fans discussing roster strategy as it pertains to recruiting and the transfer portal. Our take?

In recruiting?

Our Izubee Charles does a 100 Yards Walk with Miami Hurricanes Four-Star LB commit Jordan Campbell. Be sure to check out what they discussed during those 100 yards.

Miami’s staff is back on the recruiting trail this week and expected to check up on several top quarterbacks in the 2027 class starting today, so find out all about that.

There’s a top school for Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna 2028 wide receiver Tromon Isaac Jr. Yup, guess who!

Mansfield (Tx.) four-star top-200 receiver Zion Robinson has set his official visit to Miami and breaks things down.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas top-50 cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick is down to five schools including UM and shares the latest there.

Another key update is with Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star priority running back Jae Lamar.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin top-150 cornerback Brody Jennings hasn’t budged on his commitment to Michigan, who he announced his pledge to last July, but is still receiving a strong push from schools like Miami. And the Canes are making their interest clear … with an OV upcoming.

Miami is one of the newer teams in Sacramento (Calif.) Archbishop Riordan top-150 interior offensive lineman Tommy Tofi’s recruiting picture, but the Hurricanes have made sure to solidify their position as a team to watch for the 6-foot-7, 350-pound prospect. Find out abut that.

Four-star 2027 tight end Grant Haviland received a pair of in-school check-ups from offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and receivers coach Kevin Beard, and we have your update on that.

Also the baseball team was swept in its series at Virginia as the team tried to continue its big momentum toward the end of the regular season.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Team will get better as season goes along … Posted by Canethang

I see us taking our lumps against ND. play the young receivers if they’re talented. ND strong secondary and well coached w Freeman at the helm.

I’d sacrifice a loss in the opener if it means we grow up fast and keep improving.

absolutely CANNOT take an L against Florida.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I just want everyone to know that the Canes are here and we’re going to compete with everyone. Our class is one of the best, and just seeing it grow and getting people like Dereon Coleman, Camden Portis, and all of them is going to help us become a better national team.”
