WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

You can continue to check out what’s going on in the second portal window, as Miami’s made some nice gains there.

And we have plenty of football analysis stories for you. Check out our strength of the offense breakdown looking at the strongest position and why, plus our depth chart watch with some returners that could be pushed out of reps by portal arrivals. We also have your new message board mania feature looking at how NIL culture has changed Miami and college football and its impact.

There’s also our second transfer portal tracker so you can keep checking out all the updated information in there.

And CaneSport publisher Gary Ferman answers all your early days of May questions in a wide-ranging message board thread.

In recruiting?

Yesterday Nixa (Mo.) Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle and No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Cantwell got an Alex Mirabal update and he talks with us about that and where things stand.

We have a new Inside The Lines features with high priority target Asharri Charles, so be sure to check that out.

We also break down nine top targets Miami’s trying to flip, so don’t miss that.

Miami and one other team are beginning to separate themselves for Red Oak (Tx.) four-star 2026 receiver Brayden Robinson. Robinson breaks things down.

Another update: Last week Miami defensive line coach Jason Taylor made his way up to Orlando to check in on 2026 defensive lineman DeAnthony Lafayette. After watching the fast-rising prospect in action, Taylor quickly offered Lafayette, whose recruitment has begun to pick up this spring. UM’s status?

Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park four-star 2026 cornerback Camdin Portis, the son of former Miami running back Clinton Portis, hasn’t totally shut down his recruitment and shares where things stand.

Miami co-defensive line coach Jason Taylor dropped by Spruce Creek High to see one of the state’s best, Freddie WIlson, and we have that update.

UM remains in the race for Picayune (Miss.) four-star 2026 defensive lineman Nolan Wilson. Get the latest there.

FSU commit / Miami (Fla.) Northwestern four-star 2026 safety Tedarius Hughes has felt like a priority to Miami’s staff this spring. Get his status.

Plus we have an update on where 2026 DL recruiting stands, so don’t miss that.

There also was, of course, the big baseball series against No. 18 NC State, and we catch you up on those 2 wins before Sunday’s cancellation as UM keeps on playing solid ball.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Is this the greatest time to be a Miami Hurricane fan ever? … Posted by SeanTaylorsGhost

No more schnellenberger sand castles or Butch davis Browns. Our 4th generational head coach has turned us into the NY Yankees or Dallas Cowboys. The brand Howard Schnellenberger said would be more popular than IBM. Is about to take flight. It only took 40 years, but we are not stopping and our kingdom awaits

“I’ve been to Miami a few times for unofficial visits, but since they offered me, they’ve sent me a few dates for official visits now. I’ll probably be taking one that first weekend, from May 30 to June 1.”
