WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, it’s finally that time. We wrap up our month-long deep dive into the Miami football program and put a bow on it with our final State of The U analysis story. We bring it all together and you should have a much clearer picture now of the headwinds Mario Cristobal faced and still faces … and which direction this program is headed. So be sure to check that out.

There’s also our continuing analysis of the top 50 roster players, giving insight onto this team’s talent level and depth. Check out our closer look at No. 2, Rueben Bain. Could he be the next double-digit sack guy for Miami, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished at UM since Gregory Rousseau in 2019?

There’s more recruiting news for you as well, and that starts with the big 4-star commitment last night of Chris Ewald. We brought you that breaking news plus an analysis of what it means for the program … and even caught up with his coach to glean some insight from him on Ewald’s talent.

Plus our Miami recruiting reporters share their insight on several top uncommitted Hurricanes targets … and predict where they will land and why.

There’s also insight on the recruitment of West Jordan (Utah) Corner Canyon four-star wide receiver Jerome Myles. He backed off of a nearly three-month verbal pledge to Ole Miss and soon after landed a Miami offer … and was quite receptive to it.

Another update: Since June 15, the Canes have been in consistent contact with Buford (Ga.) 2026 four-star athlete Tyriq Green, who has been impressed with Miami’s recruiting efforts. Get his thoughts.

Plus we preview the Under Armour Future 50 at IMG, where several of the top athletes and Miami Hurricanes targets in the 2026 class will be showcasing their talents. We’ll be there bringing you all the news.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

The top 3 WRs … Posted by Trust

Sam Brown, Xavier Restrepo, and Jacolby George. All 3 are legit. Not even sure who the best is. They are all good. News flash, Shemar Kirk, Jo Jo Trader, Isaiah Horton, Ray Ray Joseph, Chance Robinson, Ny Carr, and even Robbie and Mike (to a lesser extent) are all really good too. But the top 3 are just slightly better and much more experienced. So this is a no brainer. As long as Elijah Arroyo stays healthy, Lofton will not get a lot of touches. The Lofton praise reminds me of the Ray Ray Joseph praise as a Fr. Is Ray Ray really good, yes, maybe he will be better than X. But he is not as polished or experienced. Its not enough of a separation talent wise, so you go with the reliable experienced/high character players.

All 3 starting WRs will surpass 800 yds, from there who knows. And Arroyo will get 300+ (likely more). Martinez and whomever will get a few tosses and some 1st downs, but will not be major factors in the passing game, simply because they won’t be needed.

Also, Martinez will be lucky to eclipse 1000 yds…I think he will. But, it won’t be a monster year for him. More like a couple really good games (130+ yds) and just solid (75+ yds & 1 TD) most of the way.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“They’re getting a kid that is really humble. He doesn’t talk much but works his tail off. They’re going to get a game-changer in Chris Ewald.”

Chris Ewald’s high school coach, Dameon Jones
