WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

It starts with CaneSport publisher Gary Ferman’s column taking a closer look at the Miami quarterback situation and Cam Ward – are the ratcheted up expectations on point for him?

Then we turn our attention to another key preseason metric: Analyzing where Miami fits in nationally according to Athlon magazine. So check that out, too.

Our series starts breaking down the top 30 on the roster, with the metric used our perception of their production this coming season. So check out No. 30, DE Elijah Alston and our projected performance for him. He can be a guy who really can get after the QB for the Canes.

In recruiting? More news there, starting with the big commitment last night from Gavin Nix. We brought you that breaking news and his thoughts on the decision.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

We are heading in the right direction … Posted by vivijane

I keep telling myself that it is much harder to win today but w/ the new transfer portal ….is it…..expanded playoffs etc…..

I will say this I really hope Mario can keep recruiting at his level because IMO the 3 most important things in college football are…..

1 Quarterback
2 Recruiting
3 Coaching

Not sure if they are in the right order but we are definitely in the right direction….

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Miami is LB U. We are going to keep that tradition going.”
