WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Stay tuned later this morning for what ACC commissioner Jim Phillips has to say about the strength of the conference and solidity of the programs in it as he’s scheduled to talk at ACC Media Day starting at 11 a.m.
We also have several team analysis items for you, including what the odds are saying about Miami’s game by game results as well as our look at the three pivotal games on the schedule as well as ranking Miami’s games from easiest to hardest. What does it all say about Miami’s likely record this year and the chances of a playoffs berth? Be sure to check that out.
Then there’s also the continuation of our Miami Hurricanes Player Performance Index series, and we break down No. 12 Dylan Joyce, 11 Francis Mauigoa and 10 Daryl Porter, Jr. All three are going to be major keys to Miami’s pursuit of an ACC title berth … in all three phases of the game.
Also be sure to check out our feature with Miami sophomore Ariana Rodriguez, who is set to represent the Dominican Republic at the Olympics.
In recruiting? There was, of course, the big news over the weekend that Miami landed New Iberia (La.) West Gate four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine over LSU. We had that breaking story, an analysis of his play and also a coach’s take on what the Canes landed there. Also don’t miss our story on where the last week’s developments leave UM in its hunt for a top 5 class.

A recruit with a family that’s Canes fans that now has an offer is Cape Coral (Fla.) wide receiver Kalonji Hamilton. Get the latest there.
And it’s been just over a month since Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater three-star offensive tackle Jaden Wilkerson committed to Miami, and it’s safe to say he’s beyond happy with his decision. Find out what he’s saying.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Virginia Tech … Posted by MikePCane
This isn’t a trap game bc they are an ACC champ dark horse. If you rank Miamis games preseason on difficulty most would have FSU, UF, Lville and then Vatech. I think in that order (unless they are just underestimating UF), but regardless most will have Lville BEFORE Vatech. I need to see those two teams play bc I am not so sure BUT even if thats right: if Lville was at home and Vatech was on the road I would certainly have Vatech ahead of Lville and only behind FSU in ACC play. They have a ton of production back and they are good at what they do. Don’t get me wrong: if Miami comes into that Friday night with a ton of focus and “big game” attitude they can beat them for sure. I am thrilled we get them at home at night on that short week. But I think Vatech is a top 25 team. Underrated.
