TWEETS OF THE DAY
MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
So let me get this straight … Posted by Dalew2009
– We replaced our amateur hour coaching staff with an elite coaching staff. One of the top 10 head coaches in the game. An award winning OC. An experienced and really strong DC. Took a DB coach from Georgia. Charlie Strong is our LB coach. Not even DC. Just LB coach.
– We have a QB who is a projected first round draft pick. A Heisman contender. He’s on multiple award watch lists.
– Our O-line is allegedly better. Not the best. Still not championship caliber. But better. The HC and O-line coach are two of the best in the country instead of a bunch of bums.
– We got reinforcements on defense at D-line, LB and CB. Nobody would tell you we are worse at those positions.
I think you can make an argument that every single position group on the team is better than last year, except WR, which I agree could be a major issue for this team. The coaching staff is a million times better than last year.
Now onto our opponents. The coastal still sucks. GT is still very bad. They are a 3 win team. UNC lost their starting QB and many of their playmakers. They have a terrible defense. Oh, and they won what, 6 games last year? VT is bad. The only reason people even mention their name is because of their history. That is a team that is more likely to lose to Old Dominion than beat Miami. Duke is a 3 win team, maybe. So in the coastal that leaves Pitt and UVA who are decent teams. Pitt lost their first round starting QB and the Biletnikoff winner (or finalist). They have a great D-line, but that’s a winnable game, no doubt. And UVA is just not a great program. That is in Miami.
All of this and you are telling me this team is ONE WIN better than last year? NO FREAKING WAY! This team needs to win AT LEAST 9 games. Anything less is a bad season.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“The thing about me, I feel I can play anywhere on the defense, and coach (Jahmile) Addae feels the same way. I’m smart enough to learn multiple positions, I just let coach Addae and the coaches handle where they put me. I just learn the defense and play ball.”
