WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Be sure to tune in tonight at 8 p.m. for the season kickoff of The Lamar Thomas Show, which will look ahead to the Florida game and always promises to be entertaining. Also, if you missed last night’s CaneSport Live with Gary Ferman, Matt Shodell and Bruce Warner in a new lively format, you can still check that show out.
Be sure to tune back to the site later this morning as well as we’ll have player feedback after practice with the Florida game JUST 3 DAYS AWAY!
On the site right now we have a new column taking a closer look at a Miami defense that has a lot of potential … but also a lot of questions marks that will start to be answered in Gainesville.
There’s also our in-depth preview of the Gators’ offense and what Miami is up against there.
Plus from yesterday after practice you can get feedback from Rueben Bain, Jalen Rivers and Francisco Mauigoa looking ahead to the big game. Plus OL Anez Cooper shares how he just watched the Gator Flop and how that has got him juiced up to play.

In recruiting? You can check out the stats from the opening weekend of high school football, as we have you covered with the Cane commits. And we have more updates for you.
Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy four-star 2026 receiver Jayden Petit has earned his share of early attention from a few major programs … including Miami. Find out where things stand with him.
Then we catch up with Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star wide receiver Daniel Odom, who made his way down to Coral Gables for his first visit with the Miami Hurricanes this summer. Since leaving, Odom has remained in contact with the Canes, whom he considers one of his top schools in his recruitment early on.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Some media types picking Gators … Posted by Deedeecane
The pundits? They are entitled to their opinion.
Anyone who looks at this objectively knows that it’s a tossup.
A 2 point spread
An away game for Miami at an SEC school
This won’t be an easy game . I would be shocked if we steamrolled them .
We could lose
I’m preparing myself for that possibility.
It will hurt .
But that’s the price of scheduling a tough game on the road to open the season.
