First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Well, be sure to check out all our practice news from yesterday, of course, including notes and what players were talking about afterward including some interesting insight from do-it-all safety James Williams.
This morning?
Plenty more news.
Don’t miss reading what freshman DL Rueben Bain is saying as he sets his eyes on a solid Year 1 … oh, yeah, and a Heisman Trophy.
We also have a CaneSport Inside The Lines feature with OL coach Alex Mirabal, who has high praise for one lineman in particular.
Then there’s an update with Miami TE Jaleel Skinner, who isn’t exactly setting a low bar. He talks about the explosive new offense and his All-American aspirations.

Then we also have an update with Louisville LB transfer K.J. Cloyd, who is ready to do his part as a veteran to help this team win.
And in recruiting four-star EDGE Marquise Lightfoot was previously reluctant to say whether his recruitment was closed after committing to Miami July 3, but on his most recent trip to Coral Gables for the Hurricanes’ end-of-July recruiting barbecue, the No. 41 prospect in the 2024 class told CaneSport he’s not entertaining other programs. Get that update with him.
We also catch up with Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland 2024 three-star receiver James Randle, as the Hurricanes look to add another wideout to their 2024 recruiting class. He is being evaluated and updates his status.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

TWEETS OF THE DAY
MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Size and talent, depth wise this is encouraging: This actually looks like a Miami caliber offensive line! … Posted by ghostfaceCDWright40
The OL (L to R) was Jalen Rivers, Javion Cohen, Matt Lee, Anez Cooper and Francis Mauigoa, so the same as the spring. The backups appeared to mainly be (L to R) Samson Okunlola, Logan Sagapolu, Luis Cristobal, Laurence Seymore and Matthew McCoy.
So, for me this will purely come down to coaching these guys up. We should be able to run the ball with some consistency and protect TVD this time instead of other teams playing the popular Northeast game kill the man with the football.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“The offense is going to be explosive. Sit in your seat and get ready for the show, that’s all I have to say. It’s going to be a fun ride.”
