WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Stay tuned later this morning as we’ll have all your feedback coming out of today’s football practice. And yesterday we had your in-depth looks at the offense and defense courtesy of coordinators Shannon Dawson and Lance Guidry. So don’t miss those updates.

We also go Inside The Lines with OL Matthew McCoy, who is battling to be a key part of what should be a major strength for this Hurricanes team. Get his take on where things stand.

In recruiting?

We have another Inside The Lines feature, this one with 2026 Jones (Fla.) three-star gunslinger Dereon Coleman, who committed to the Canes last month. Learn more on what he’s all about.

There’s also an update on Miami (Fla.) Central four-star defensive back and 2025 Hurricane commit Amari Wallace. Get the latest there as he comes off a devastating leg injury that’s expected to sideline him for much of if not his entire senior season.

Plus we catch up with Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day four-star 2026 running back Javari Barnett. He is gaining interest in the Hurricanes and visited Miami at the end of last month, so find out where things stand there.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Should Louisville really have a shot at beating Miami? … Posted by Cane thing 67

At beating UM? Well based on recruiting over the last 3 years the answer should be a resounding NO!!! UM has crushed them in recruiting all three years. Based on personnel UM should win. These type of games will determine if the coaching staff is worth their weight and compensation. If UM loses to Louisville, Lucy is going to have to have some explaining to do.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“With all the weapons we gained from the portal and in recruiting, we have the potential to make it to the national championship. To be honest, we have the potential to make it to the national championship. With Cam Ward, Damien Martinez, Sam Brown, all the new guys we have the potential to knock everybody (out). It’s really amazing to see how this game goes, how the season goes. I’m very excited for it.”
