WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Stay tuned today as we’ll have feedback upon further review of the Ball State game from coaches Mario Cristobal, Shannon Dawson and Lance Guidry. You don’t want to miss their perspective.

And, of course, we had you fully covered from Saturday’s game with Gary Ferman’s column, post-game interviews with Mario Cristobal and players, our position by position grading column, key takeaways from the game, Pro Football Focus grades, Gary Ferman answering all your post-game questions on the message board, our game analysis story and much more.

In recruiting?

On Saturday night, Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep four-star offensive lineman Johnnie Jones was on hand at Raymond James Stadium to watch the Miami Hurricanes big win over the USF Bulls.  We get the latest with him.

Although Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Gavin Nix has been committed to the Miami Hurricanes since the summer, that has not stopped other programs from recruiting the coveted 2025 prospect. Despite pushes from a handful of schools, most notably the Michigan Wolverines, Nix is locked in with the Canes. We catch up with him.

We break down some key targets that Miami is hoping set up official visits and also have Stephen Wagner’s take on some key RPM projections and if he agrees/disagrees and why.

Another update: Plenty of schools have taken note of Waxahachie (Tx.) unranked 2026 receiver Kohen Brown’s hot start to his junior season — including Miami. Get his reaction to a Cane offer.

Programs like Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama have made clear their interest in Tampa (Fla.) Armwood four-star running back and Miami commit Girard Pringle. So where do things stand there?

Plus On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power shares his thoughts with us on the Miami DB class haul so far. So don’t miss that, either.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Lets talk Shannon Dawson … Posted by texascanes

what a difference a QB makes huh?

I think its basically fact now, that Coach Dawson was severly hindered by our QB play last year. Now that he has an absolute stud , his play design and overall offense literally could not be playing any better.

I am glad we got Coach Dawson and this guy is one hell of an OC.

“Extremely proud of our guys for responding the way we did. First time we actually trailed. Second half we played cleaner and better Miami football.”
