WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Stay tuned tonight for The Lamar Thomas Show at 8 p.m., which promises – as always – to be informative and entertaining.

And if you missed CaneSport Live last night, it’s not too late to tune in as Gary Ferman, Matt Shodell and Bruce Warner talked all things Canes with fans.

Plus there were post-practice updates yesterday afternoon with Cam Ward, Elijah Arroyo and Mishael Powell you’ll want to check out. Also check out our Pro Canes feature with stats and highlights from Canes in the NFL.

This morning? We take a dive into what we’ve learned about this Miami defense through four games … and what we still don’t know for sure.

The full basketball schedule also was released last night, so be sure to check that out.

In recruiting Milton (Ga.) four-star 2025 quarterback and Miami commit Luke Nickel is set to sign with the Hurricanes in December and arrive on Miami’s campus in January. But before he arrives in Coral Gables, Miami’s top-150 gunslinger is finishing up business at the high school level. Find out about that and what he’s saying.

We also catch up with Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star linebacker Amarri Irvin. He may still be a 2027 prospect, but that has not stopped over 40 schools from offering the elite defender, including the Miami Hurricanes.

Plus there’s an update on Phenix City (Ala.) Central Miami three-star receiver commit Daylyn Upshaw. has faced plenty of tests in his high school career. But this Friday, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver will take on one of the bigger challenges he’s faced yet.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

My only concern with Cam Ward is his taunting… Posted by ghostfaceCDWright40

I just hope that a ref that hates Miami anyway doesn’t use this as an excuse to hit us with a 15 yard penalty. Typically you would issue a warning first but the pointing at defenders as he is running out of bounds I can see getting called in ACC play.

“I love it so far. It’s nothing that I never expected. I knew this was all going to happen. Just trusting coach Dawson and coach Cristobal, I knew that this would happen. I feel like the culture they’ve established is what it’s supposed to be. You can really see the energy, how (the players) want to play for their school and their teammates. I just love the start they’re off to so far. It’s really special.”
