WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

If you missed CaneSport Live last night with Gary Ferman, Izubee Charles and Bruce Warner interacting with fans and answering their questions, you can still tune into the replay this morning.

And don’t miss tuning in for the inaugural 2024 Lamar Thomas Show at 8 p.m. tonight. That promises to be entertaining, as always.

This morning also be sure to check out our latest Film Study, this one taking a closer look at how Shannon Dawson used the tight ends after they were an afterthought in the passing game a year ago.

We also will be talking with Cam Ward later this morning after practice, so stay tuned for that, and we have player feedback off yesterday’s practice with Francis Mauigoa, Jaden Harris and Wesley Bissainthe. So don’t miss that.

In recruiting?

The Hurricanes made a serious impression on four-star Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage top-70 2026 receiver Brandon Bennett’s with Saturday’s 41-17 win over Florida despite him attending the game as a Gator recruit. Find out about that.

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star 2026 receiver Jabari Brady was also on hand for the game, so find out where things now stand with him and what he sees ahead for UM.

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern four-star 2026 receiver Calvin Russell also saw plenty from the Hurricanes in Saturday’s 41-17 hammering of Florida in Gainesville despite attending the game as a Gator recruit. Get his thoughts.

Plus Orlando (Fla.) Jones four-star receiver Vernell Brown was on hand Saturday. He committed to Florida roughly a month and a half ago, but Miami’s staff hasn’t lost hope it can flip the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 6 receiver in the 2025 class. Find out what he’s saying.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

“Our young guys are fixing to explode and become great football players. We have the right blend, older guys with a lot of experience, the front liners, and then we’ve got some talented freshmen working their way and they’re giving their other guys a run for their money. So it’ll be really interesting in the next few weeks as we elevate the level of competition. It’s going to make us a better team and we’ve always been upfront and honest – development is what football is all about and we need to keep developing and getting better and that’s the focus.”
