WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

The Hurricanes return to the practice field this morning and we’ll have you fully covered with video of the day’s work, news and notes from practice and what DC Corey Hetherman and players are talking about afterward. So stay tuned for that. We also go back over all our coverage from Monday’s opening practice, so you can check all that out.

In recruiting?

Miami landed its first commitment of the spring Monday evening when four-star offensive tackle and No. 177 overall prospect Ben Congdon pulled the trigger to become the fourth member of the Hurricanes’ 2026 cycle, and the Canes might not be finished adding commits this spring. We break down who might be next.

And this morning we also have a scout’s take on just what Miami landed in Congdon that you’re not going to want to miss.

Another update: Miami (Fla.) Northwestern four-star 2026 safety and Florida State commit Tedarius Hughes is still receiving plenty of attention from the Hurricanes and has visits planned. Find out what he’s saying.

Orlando (Fla.) First Academy safety Devin Jackson and new Miami Hurricanes safeties coach Will Harris have a long history together. During Harris’s time at Florida, he landed a verbal commitment from Jackson and has remained in contact since making the move to Coral Gables last month. Now that Harris visited where do things stand?

Plus we had your recaps of last night’s games in basketball vs. Georgia Tech (a loss) and baseball against FIU (a win).

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Props to S&C staff … Posted by CANE1983

It’s starting to look more like it’s supposed to.

Blount, Scott, McConathy, among others look like monsters.

and I know this guy just got here but Lowe looks like an NFL player right now.

We spend a lot of time talking about Coordinators and position coaches and their impact on development but the S&C staff spends the most time with these guys + are vital in shaping the culture of toughness and physicality.

I still want to see more speed, but we continue to field a “better looking” roster each season Mario has been here…

They got some new coaches, and right away those coaches called me and let me know that I was one of the players they were already recruiting very hard, and they let it be known that no matter the defensive coaches there they still want me.
