Although Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy quarterback Brady Quinn may only be a 2028 prospect, that has not stopped several Power 4 programs from offering the rising gunslinger. Last month, the Miami Hurricanes joined the growing list of schools to offer the in-state prospect.

“I felt pretty good about it because I’ve been going over and visiting Miami for a while,” Quinn told CaneSport. “Me and Coach (Shannon) Dawson have a pretty good relationship, and it started even before he offered me. I was just stoked to get an offer from my hometown school.”

After offering, Miami became the first Power 4 program from the Sunshine State to do so, which is something that meant a lot to the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder.

“It feels good knowing they can see my potential and how I am right now and how good I am right now,” Quinn said. “The year Miami had was great, and knowing they want me on that team feels pretty good.”

This past fall, Quinn made his way to Hard Rock Stadium to watch the Canes up close and was also in Coral Gables for Miami’s junior day in January.

“When I’m down there, I just feel really comfortable,” Quinn said. “When I’m talking to coach Dawson, I’m not tense at all, like it’s an interview or something like that. All of the coaching staff shows great hospitality, which makes me feel welcomed.

After a handful of in-depth looks at Miami, Quinn is a firm believer in the Canes.

“It’s definitely on an upward trend,” Quinn said. “The offense was the best in the nation, so who wouldn’t want to play for them as a quarterback? It’s just going to keep getting better, and coach Dawson does a great job with the offense, and with the pieces he has around them, I think they’ll be pretty good this year.”

Along with Miami, Quinn holds offers from Ole Miss, Nebraska, Maryland, Louisville, Syracuse, and more. Despite the early traction in his recruitment, Quinn knows there is still work to be done.

“Just staying humble and keeping my head down,” Quinn said. “Going to keep working and not let these offers get to me because there’s still more work to do because I haven’t really proved anything yet.”

As a freshman starter at First Baptist Academy, Quinn threw for 2,549 yards with 33 TDs and 9 INTs. He is not yet ranked according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

“I would say my accuracy is great, and I feel like I’m the most accurate quarterback in the country,” Quinn said. “I have a really good deep ball, and just the way I can read the field and make plays stands out.”

CaneSport’s take

Quinn is a rising prospect in the Sunshine State who the Hurricanes are jumping on early. The 2028 prospect is very familiar with Miami after taking multiple visits to Coral Gables, and we expect that to continue with an offer now on the table.
