Miami’s recruiting ranking has skyrocketed from abysmal to intriguing in the span of two weeks following a slew of commitments.

The Hurricanes’ 2024 recruiting class now comes in at No. 24 nationally after Miami landed six commitments in 12 days between quarterback Judd Anderson’s commitment April 7 and safety Isaiah Thomas’ commitment April 19. Miami has a team recruiting score of 87.748, a score which is determined by taking the average of a certain number of top recruits in the class.

Miami makes the jump to 23 after being in an unranked tie with dozens of other programs which also held one or fewer commits to start the month. The Hurricanes come in behind Ole Miss at 20, Iowa at 21, Colorado at 22 and Michigan State at 23. Miami is currently ahead of ACC rival North Carolina at 25 and Oklahoma at 26.

The Hurricanes sit at fourth in the ACC 2024 recruiting rankings behind Florida State (No. 1), Louisville (No. 2) and Clemson (No. 3). Florida State currently has one five-star commit, five four-star commits and five three-star commits. Louisville holds two four-star commits and a three-star pledge, and Clemson has five four-star commits and a three-star pledge. Miami is less than two points from surpassing Clemson and Louisville.

The Canes are up to seven commits in this year’s cycle with two safeties, a receiver, a running back, a quarterback, an offensive lineman and a kicker. Receiver Chance Robinson became Miami’s first four-star commit after pledging at the Hurricanes’ spring game April 14, which came just days after three-star quarterback Judd Anderson got the ball rolling with his commitment. Miami has six three-star commits and one four-star commit.

The status of Miami’s commit list draws comparisons to Miami’s list of 2023 commits this time last season, when the Hurricanes received a handful of three-star commits early on including Antonio Tripp, Frankie Tinilau and Bobby and Robby Washington (Robby was a four-star recruit).

Similar to last year’s recruiting cycle, Miami remains in the running for multiple On300 four and five-star prospects including defensive tackles David Stone and Justin Scott, defensive lineman T.A. Cunningham and four-star receiver Joshisa Trader, among a plethora of other high-profile prospects.

Georgia, Ohio State and Alabama sit at first, second and third, respectively, in the 2024 class rankings followed by Florida, South Carolina, Michigan and Florida State at fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh.

Miami looks to continue to build on last year’s No. 6 recruiting class in head coach Mario Cristobal’s first full recruiting cycle with the Canes.
