Miami's Will Harris Offers Top-110 S Isala Wily-Ava During West Coast Visit

Last year, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star safety Isala Wily-Ava visited Coral Gables for the first time, but he had yet to receive an offer from the Miami Hurricanes. That changed on Tuesday, and now the 2027 defensive back is hoping to return to South Florida after picking up an offer from the Canes.
“I most definitely want to go back out there,” Wily-Ava told CaneSport. “I just want to really feel the atmosphere down there and learn more about the community as well. When I first went there, I wasn’t really being recruited by them, but now it would be more of an exciting process.”
Miami safeties coach Will Harris, who is currently on the West Coast evaluating prospects from the 2026 class and beyond, extended the offer to Wily-Ava. The standout defensive back, who holds more than a dozen Power Four offers, was thrilled to add Miami to his growing list.
“I was just overwhelmed when I got the Miami offer,” Wily-Ava said. “Coach Will Harris, the defensive backs coach, offered me—we had just started talking, and they offered me right there in the weight room.”
That excitement stems from his brief time in Miami, which left a lasting impression. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Wily-Ava is the No. 109 overall prospect in the 2027 class and the No. 13 prospect in the state of California.

“I’ve been there once, last year, and they have a very nice campus,” Wily-Ava said. “The people hosting me were great, and they told me about the academics at the school and how it’s a really good academic program.”
In addition to Miami, Wily-Ava hopes to visit Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Texas, Texas A&M, and Georgia this summer as he continues to navigate the recruiting process.
“Whatever school suits me and my family the most,” Wily-Ava said when asked what he’s looking for in a future program. “Also academics. Having a plan after football is always good, and I want to get a good degree. Miami has a great education, so that’s big to me as well.”
CaneSport’s Take
It’s no surprise to see Harris—a California native—targeting some of the West Coast’s top recruits, with Wily-Ava being the latest to earn an offer from Miami. Getting him back on campus will be essential if the Canes hope to become a serious contender in his recruitment.
