File it under the latest athletes to have thieves target them. But this one struck close to home for Miami Hurricanes fans.

Per Andy Slater, newly arrived transfer quarterback Carson Beck had both of his cars stolen overnight in South Florida while his social media famous/basketball standout girlfriend Hanna Cavinder also had her SUV stolen.

Cavinder’s car was already recovered, but Beck’s cars are still on the loose.

Per Slater those two cars are a Mercedes and Lamborghini. That Lambo Urus Performante, by the way, was previously reported with a price tag of around $300k. The purchase apparently just happened earlier this month, with a photo of the purchase posted Feb. 6.

Yes, NIL has served Beck well.

But also made him an unfortunate target for nee’er-do-wellers. Jokes no doubt will follow blaming Florida, FSU, Notre Dame or even Georgia fans. But this is no laughing matter.

It is the latest in a string of thefts of well-to-do athletes. Just yesterday a ring of seven thieves were busted. It was a group described by ESPN as “members of a South American theft group and are accused of stealing more than $2 million in valuables.”

Among other athlete victims joining Beck and Cavinder: Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, Bengals QB Joe Burrow and in the NBA players like Luca Doncic, Bobby Portis and Mike Conley, Jr.

“(It’s) obviously something that you don’t want to happen to really anybody but obviously yourself,” Mahomes said.

In December the FBI issued a bulletin that read “These homes are targeted for burglary due to the perception they may have high-end goods like designer handbags, jewelry, watches, and cash.”

And, apparently, cars.
