Several hundred recruits visited Miami Thursday for the Hurricanes’ 7-on-7 and offensive and defensive linemen showcase, and the Canes’ staff is continuing to evaluate 2024, 2025, 2026 talent and beyond.

A few recruits consistently caught the attention of Miami’s coaching staff during the camp, and others landed offers. CaneSport will continue to roll out updates on individual players as well as offer stories throughout the next week, so be sure to check back in with the site for continued coverage.

Miami staff pays close attention to 4-star CB Ben Hanks and blue-chip teammate

Hanks, perhaps Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington’s most notable 2025 prospect, was the best all-around recruit Thursday and played like it. Miami secondary coach Jahmile Addae and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry closely watched Hanks during his seven-on-seven competition, and the No. 113 overall recruit in the On3 Industry Ranking and No. 11 cornerback looked the part of a future Division I prospect. He already holds a Miami offer, and the Canes are the strong leader in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Hanks additionally has offers from programs including Georgia, Alabama, Florida and others.

Four-star safety Antonio Branch Jr., Hanks’ teammate, also looked tremendous and was watched by Miami’s staff. He also told CaneSport he has the Hurricanes in his top three but isn’t ready to reveal the other two programs. He holds 11 early offers including Miami, Michigan, Florida State, West Virginia and Auburn.

Palmetto 2024 3-star Jacory Barney nabs Miami’s attention

Barney had the chance for a one-on-one workout with Miami receivers coach Kevin Beard during a lightning delay and got a serious look from the assistant coach. He’s fresh off a June 2 official visit to Nebraska and is visiting Texas A&M this weekend before getting to Illinois June 23. He looked like one of the more talented receiver prospects during the camp and could be a talent Miami keeps an eye on moving forward. He already holds an offer from the Hurricanes.

Palm Beach Central 2025 EDGE’s standout performance results in offer

West Palm Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central 2025 EDGE Romando Johnson landed his third Power Five offer Thursday after showing out at Miami’s camp, where the showed out as one of the best — if not THE best — defensive line prospect. He consistently dominated drills using dummies and was a force to handle in one-on-one. Purdue and Pitt were the other two programs to offer Johnson before the Hurricanes came on Thursday.

4-star S Tony Williams to receive further evaluation by staff

Williams, another 2025 prospect from Palm Beach Central, doesn’t yet hold a Miami offer, but the coaching staff wants to continue to evaluate him heading into his junior season. Penn State, USC, Arkansas and Purdue are among Power Five programs to offer Williams already, and he’s been marked as a recruit Miami wants to keep its eye on heading into the rest of summer and fall.
