Off the radar Texas guard parlays strong senior season into Miami commitment
Divine Ugochukwu, a 6-3 guard from Sugar Land (Texas) Clements High, announced on his Instagram Saturday that he had committed to Miami.
Ugochukwu is coming from a little off the radar, without a star ranking in the On 3 rankings. He averaged 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game as a senior while leading Clements to a 32-1 season.
He finished off his senior season strong in the William Roberts Memorial Tournament in Houston where he was named MVP after leading Clements to the championship. He can play both guard spots.

“Divine is a great young prospect out of Houston who had a tremendous senior season,” Miami Coach Jim Larranaga said. “He is a high-IQ point guard with elite athleticism and a great feel for the game. We are very excited to add a player like Divine to our freshman class.”
Ugochukwu joins a quality recruiting class as Miami works to fill out its roster. The Hurricanes have previously signed five star Jalil Bethea as well as guard Austin Swartz and forward Isaiah Johnson-Arigu.
