Portal Alert: Miami Hurricanes add FSU versatile RB/KR transfer Rodney Hill
The Miami Hurricanes continue to hit the portal hard with enrollment for the semester wrapping up Jan. 24, and the 10th addition of this cycle was an under-the-radar pickup from rival Florida State. Rodney Hill, who entered the portal from FSU shortly after the regular season and then committed to FAMU before decommitting from there Jan. 1, has now been picked up by the Canes.
Hill played high school ball in Statesboro, Ga., for Bulloch Academy, and was rated a 3-star prospect in the Class of 2022. He played WR, DB, RB and returned kicks in high school.
As a freshman he appeared in four games for FSU, rushing 27 times for 144 yards and a TD. This past season he got carries in 10 different games, but never more than six attempts per game. He ended with 50 carries for 190 yards and a TD, adding five catches for 83 yards. He also had two kickoff returns, netting a total of 42 yards with a long of 27.

Florida to retain head coach
He is viewed somewhat as a Swiss Army knife type player at Miami. He can be a receiving running back, split out as a receiver and also help in returns. He’s also known as a solid pass protector, which makes him a potential viable option on third downs helping to protect Cam Ward.
His Pro Football Focus grades?
In 45 reps in 2022 he had a 79.9 percent grade (55.2 receiving, 77.0 pass blocking, 78.3 running). This past season in 109 reps he graded out at 69.2 percent (65.6 as a receiver, 83.4 as a pass blocker and 68.3 as a runner).
