SIGHTS AND SOUNDS: Miami Hurricanes ramp up final preparations at Final Four on Friday

HOUSTON – The Miami Hurricanes put in their final preparation work in Houston on Friday for Connecticut, with a berth in the national title game on the line.
As coach Jim Larranaga said today, his team will do whatever is necessary to advance, and the Canes have shown all year they can win a variety of ways with different guys stepping up.

“When we played Houston, these guys, they packed it in,” Larranaga said. “These guys had to make some 3s. They did. They made 11. But against Texas they were out there strangling our 3-point shooters. So what did we do? We attacked the rim and got to the foul line. Made 28 free throws.
“So I love when we have a balance in our offense. I love when Nijel (Pack) is making 3s, (Isaiah Wong) is making 3s and Wooga (Poplar) is making 3s, but Norchad is getting dunks and layups, and Jordan Miller the same thing, because to us, to play at your best, we need for or five guys in double figures. We’ve had that for most of the season. Hopefully we’ll have that tomorrow.”
