The mystery behind the new dating alliance of Haley Cavinder and Georgia QB Carson Beck
Is it a true love affair? Is it a ploy to blow up the Internet? Or is it Mario Cristobal’s latest strategy to use all assets at the University of Miami to distract a possible opponent from a place within the College Football Playoff?
Only Miami women’s basketball guard and social media influencer Hanna Cavinder and Georgia quarterback Carson Beck really know.
But in the days before college football training camps open up, one of the highest profile women athletes in the NIL world, and one of college football‘s top quarterbacks, a guy favored by many to win the Heisman trophy this year, have announced that they are an item.
The rumors began July 4 weekend with several social media posts of the two together. Then Beck seemed to make it official when he posted a picture of the two holding hands together on Instagram.
Haley Cavinder, the other half of the Cavinder sisters twin duo, is dating Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Ferguson, who has become a costar in many of her social media posts.
There’s nothing like good old fashioned romances to blow up social media followers. Hannah and Carson aren’t on the level yet of power couple Olivia Dunne of LSU gymnastics fame and Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, but they’re certainly on their way.
If Beck delivers this season on the field, with Georgia being predicted to win another national title, things could really take off for the couple. Of course, there always is the possibility that a current Hurricane steps up his game and swoops Cavinder off her feet and utilizes home-field advantage to bring her back home.

The girls are credited as pioneers in the power of building a brand as a college athlete since their transfer from Fresno State to Miami, a subsequent departure and return. When NIL launched on July 1, 2021, the Cavinder Twins announced three major brand deals – including one with Boost Mobile in Times Square – to their millions of followers on social media. There have been many more deals including an extension recently with Under Armour.
In May, the Cavinder Twins announced a new partnership with Slate Milk. They are investing in the protein drink while also signing endorsement deals to become ambassadors for the brand.
Ironically, while they were away for a year the Cavinders even tried the WWE, which initially signed them to an NIL deal back in 2021. But that didn’t work out. They started to train at the WWE Performance Center, and the duo appeared on the June 6 episode of WWE NXT. The next month they went on the signature show, Smackdown. But by October they were headed back to college basketball. Haley first transferred to TCU, then returned to Miami with Hanna.
The twins – who have the third and fourth highest On3 NIL Valuation in women’s basketball – recently talked about their return to college basketball with Talia Goodman at the On3 Elite Series.
Meanwhile Miami women’s basketball has been engaged in off-season workouts as the program tries to recapture its Elite Eight form under new head coach Tricia Cullop.
Stay tuned.
