Top-150 IOL SJ Alofaituli signs with Miami, becomes Hurricanes’ third-highest ranked OL signee of Cristobal era
Miami head coach Mario Cristobal has landed his share of big-name offensive linemen during his last seven years as a head coach.
Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman top-150 interior offensive lineman Seuseu “SJ” Alofaituli is as highly touted as nearly any of Cristobal’s signees.
Alofiatuli became Miami’s third highest-rated offensive line signee of the Cristobal era Wednesday when the No. 105 overall prospect and No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the On3 Industry Ranking officially signed with Miami. Alofaituli can play guard or center but has been one of the country’s top centers his last two years of high school. He missed time earlier this fall after suffering a facial fracture but has remained a consensus four-star prospect.
The 6-foot-1, 290-pound recruit has remained locked in with Miami since announcing his commitment July 5.
“I’m liking it down here for sure,” Alofaituli said after his official visit. “It was really the love and the coaches, going to my family and the plan they had for me over here, just the plan, you know? It’s something special for sure. The coaches were loving as always, love my family, love me. Guys like Elija Lofton (his former teammate from Bishop Gorman) over here, they showed out over spring ball. It’s something I plan to do (if I come here) as well.”

Alofaituli continually praised Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal throughout the fall for their work with the Hurricanes offensive line and his respect for their record of offensive line development. He was also one of Miami’s most vocal supporters this fall and remained perpetually optimistic about the Hurricane’ playoff, ACC Championship and national championship chances.
“I think being state champs of Florida, basically, I see them heading (toward being) a national championship program,” Alofaituli said after his visit for the Hurricanes’ win over Florida State. “Back-to-back natties. When I come in, that’s the goal for me too. I want to make sure this program gets a national championship, and I’m very confident of (the direction) the program is heading in and what the future holds for Miami.”
Alofaituli will be a January enrollee.
CaneSport’s Take
Alofaituli is the heart of Miami’s 2025 offensive line class and one of the higher-floor offensive linemen in this year’s class, and enrolling early could open a path to potentially earning snaps in some capacity his freshman year.
