Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward four-star receiver Joshua Moore started the year as a mid-tier three-star recruit many viewed as an intriguing prospect. He finished the year as one of the state of Florida’s most coveted prospects and one of Miami’s highest-ranked commits in the 2025 class.

Moore, the No. 41 overall prospect and No. 8 receiver in the On300, signed with the Hurricanes Wednesday and formally concluded his recruitment. Moore was one of Miami’s top receiver targets in the 2025 class and remained high on the Hurricanes, receivers coach Kevin Beard and head coach Mario Cristobal throughout the cycle.

Moore initially committed to Florida in late June but kept in contact with Miami’s staff throughout the summer and fall. Miami continued to chip away at the 6-foot-4, 205-pound wideout and remained a strong contender before Moore ultimately flipped from the Gators in October.

“Really, it was the developmental part of things,” Moore said after his flip. “I really like what coach Cristobal, coach KB and the rest of the coaching staff has been doing this season. I see that they’re building something special. I see the wide receiver room and I see the wide receivers are producing, so I wanted to be a part of something special.”

Other schools still reached out and inquired about Moore, although Miami remained the clear team to beat since flipping to the Hurricanes. He credited Beard for playing a role in helping him ultimately commit to Miami.

“I feel like KB is one of the best receiver coaches in college football,” Moore said Oct. 9. “I can relate to him. I just felt like that was somewhere I could go and I could thrive, I could be developed — not just as an NFL player but as an NFL star.”

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power raved about Moore’s upside as well, believing the consensus four-star prospect has tremendous potential.

“Joshua Moore is one of the most gifted receivers in the 2025 cycle,” Power said after Moore’s flip to Miami. “I had a chance to see him at the Miami Under Armour camp back in the spring, and I think he passes the eye test with flying colors. He’s 6-foot-4, 205 (pounds), runs well, functional mover at that size, has great length as well, and I think his traits show up on the field.”

Power hasn’t had reservations about On3’s decision to rank Moore more than 100 spots higher than the next closest database either.

“There’s no doubt he’s a top talent,” Power said. “I think he’s a huge get for Miami, keeping a local prospect with his type of upside at home, I think this is a big flip for the Hurricanes. And I think you’re seeing the season Miami is putting together continuing to pay off on the recruiting trail, and I think he’s certainly a big addition.”

CaneSport’s Take

Moore looks like one of Beard’s biggest recruiting wins to date and has one of the highest ceilings in Miami’s 2025 class. He’ll be an early enrollee.
