Where top Miami recruiting targets, commits sit in the latest On300
There was plenty of movement in the latest 2025 On300 recruiting rankings update — including plenty that affected top Miami recruiting targets and current Hurricane commits.
No new Miami commits cracked the latest On300 for the first time, although several prospects saw significant jumps. Four-star tight end commit Luka Gilbert was the only prospect to drop out of the On300 but retains his blue-chip status.
Here’s where Miami commits and top recruits sit after the latest rankings update.
Five-Star Plus+ CB DJ Pickett
Previous ranking: No. 4 | New ranking: No. 3
+++ Pickett shoots up one spot ahead of Five-Star Plus+ Oregon receiver commit Dakorien Moore. Pickett will decide between Miami, Oregon and LSU July 17.
Four-star receiver Dallas Wilson (Oregon commit)
Previous ranking: No. 18 | New ranking: No. 18
+++ Wilson was one of a handful of Miami prospects not to move in the last On300 update, although On3 remains higher on Wilson than other recruiting databases. The Hurricanes are working to flip him from Oregon. Wilson remains a five-star prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.
Four-star receiver Vernell Brown III
Previous ranking: No. 46 | New ranking: No. 38
+++ Brown’s rankings boost comes just before the four-star prospect decides between Miami, Florida, Florida State and Ohio State, all of whom he official visited last month. Brown also played particularly well at spring showcases and 7-on-7 tournaments. He is still a five-star recruit in the On3 Industry Ranking.
Four-star receiver Jaime Ffrench
Previous ranking: No. 55 | New ranking: No. 55
+++ Ffrench’s ranking didn’t change either in the latest update. Miami, LSU and Texas remain strong contenders to land his commitment after visiting the three schools in June. He also remains a five-star prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.
Four-star receiver Joshua Moore (Florida commit)
Previous ranking: No. 57 | New ranking: No. 57
+++ Moore committed to Florida over Miami, Georgia and others but will continue to be recruited into the fall. Moore has had a fairly uneventful summer outside of official visits.
Four-star CB Ben Hanks Jr.
Previous ranking: No. 71 | New ranking: No. 72
+++ Hanks dropped one spot but continues to be one of Miami’s top remaining uncommitted defensive back targets in the class along with Pickett. He could announce a decision in late July or early August.
Four-star S Hylton Stubbs (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 101 | New ranking: No. 96
+++ Stubbs committed to Miami July 4 to give the Hurricanes their 16th pledge of the 2025 class after decommitting from USC in June. He is currently Miami’s highest-ranked commit in the On300.
Four-star S Bryce Fitzgerald
Previous ranking: NR | New ranking: No. 101
+++ Fitzgerald, a Miami (Fla.) Columbus prospect with strong ties to the Hurricanes, will announce his decision July 17. The Hurricanes already have one true safety, one nickelback and one safety capable of playing corner committed in the class.
Four-star QB Luke Nickel (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 146 | New ranking: No. 102
+++ Nickel was Miami’s biggest climber in the latest update after a stellar showing at the Elite11 quarterback competition in California last month. Nickel became Miami’s first quarterback to finish in the Elite11 since Brad Kaaya a decade ago.
Four-star RB Girard Pringle (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 106 | New ranking: No. 105
+++ Pringle draws plenty of comparisons to CJ Verdell, the former Oregon running back Mario Cristobal coached during his time in Eugene. The staff remains particularly high on him following his commitment in March.
Four-star LB Elijah Melendez (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 111 | New ranking: No. 111
+++ Melendez shut down his recruitment last month after taking official visits to Auburn, Ole Miss and Oklahoma and has locked in with the Hurricanes.
Four-star EDGE Iose Epenesa
Previous ranking: No. 158 | New ranking: No. 113
+++ Epenesa might be Miami’s favorite uncommitted EDGE left on the board and is working toward a decision. He is also considering Iowa, Missouri, Penn State and Utah. He is the younger brother of Buffalo Bills defensive end A.J. Epenesa.

Four-star DL Nathaniel Marshall (Michigan commit)
Previous ranking: No. 70 | New ranking: No. 120
+++ Miami is playing the long game with Marshall but didn’t host him on campus last month. Marshall committed to Michigan in April but is still being pursued by multiple programs.
Four-star CB Jaboree Antoine
Previous ranking: No. 61 | New ranking: No. 133
+++ Antoine decommitted from LSU last month and is now focusing heavily on Miami, Florida State and LSU. He took official visits to all three programs and is one of the Canes’ top cornerback targets.
Four-star WR Jerome Myles
Previous ranking: NR | New ranking: No. 142
+++ Myles recently decommitted from Ole Miss and quickly landed a Miami offer, although the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently favors Utah to keep the local prospect home.
Four-star IOL Cortez Smith
Previous ranking: No. 151 | New ranking: No. 158
+++ Smith will choose between Miami, Georgia, Georgia Tech and South Carolina July 20. Georgia appears to be the strong favorite, although Miami has given itself a fighting chance.
Four-star OL Max Buchanan (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 95 | New ranking: No. 241
+++ Buchanan is versatile enough to play any position on the offensive line and became the Hurricanes’ first blue-chip offensive line commit since the 2023 cycle when he committed late last month.
Four-star TE Brock Schott (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 231 | New ranking: No. 254
+++ Schott shut down his recruitment after committing to Miami shortly after the Hurricanes’ spring game and has remained locked in with Miami.
Four-star CB Chris Ewald (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 217 | New ranking: No. 268
+++ Ewald committed to Miami over Georgia near the end of June despite a hard push from the Bulldogs in the days leading up to his decision. Ewald is one of the top defensive backs in the South Florida area.
Four-star RB Byron Louis
Previous ranking: No. 290 | New ranking: No. 289
+++ Miami and Florida State appear deadlocked in a battle for Louis, who is expected to come off the board this summer. Louis has strong ties to both programs.
Four-star IOL Seuseu “SJ” Alofaituli (Miami commit)
Previous ranking: No. 296 | New ranking: No. 296
+++ Alofaituli is the highest-rated interior offensive line commit Miami has landed since Cristobal’s arrival and can play guard or center at the next level. He shut down his recruitment after committing July 5.
