2023 Richmond (VA) Thomas Jefferson three-star WR Aziah Johnson has signed with Michigan State. Johnson, standing at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, originally committed to the Spartans on December 14, 2022. Johnson held additional offers from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Duke, and more. The 2023 On3 Consensus three-star is ranked No. 937 nationally, the No. 142 wide receiver, and the No. 24 player in the state of Virginia.
On3 rates Johnson a three-star (87.00), the No. 104 wide receiver, and the No. 21 player in the state of Virginia. Johnson does not have a national ranking, according to On3.
“I am a big fan of Le’Veon Bell,” Johnson told SpartanMag.com. “I have been a big fan of his since I was like 11, 12 years old. I used to play running back when I was younger. I didn’t play wide receiver until high school. I always looked up to him and wanted to be like him. I used to watch his college highlights all the time and I knew he went to Michigan State.”
Johnson also discussed his future position coach, Michigan State’s wide receiver’s coach Courtney Hawkins.

“Coach (Courtney Hawkins) is really genuine,” Johnson told SpartanMag.com. “He said some things that meant a lot to me. It gave me a vibe that I was a priority to him. He really wanted me to be at Michigan State. He made my family and I all feel at home.”
NIL Valuation
Johnson currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12.8k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
