Michigan State’s defensive backfield grew by two this weekend when Bowling Green transfer Tracy Revels joined Texas San Antonio cornerback Anthony Pinnace in committing to the Spartans. Revels committed to Michigan State on Saturday afternoon, and made his decision public via social media, late Sunday morning. Revels emerged as the starting field safety for Bowling Green last fall as a redshirt-freshman. He started seven games for the Falcons, who went 7-5 in the regular season and finished 7-6 overall. Revels (6-1, 185) is a native of Texarkana, Texas. Revels had 40 total tackles and one pass breadk-up in 2024. As a recruit, Revels was ranked the No. 1,329 overall recruit and the No. 133 safety in his class. He was also ranked the No. 215 recruit in Texas by the 2023 On3 Industry Rankings. Revels planned to visit Oklahoma State after his visit to Michigan State, but opted to commit to the Spartans during his stay in East Lansing.  “Just being around them, being around the facility, being connected with them, I made the decision to commit,” Revels said. “Great atmosphere. Love the coach, love the staff, love the environment." (More inside SpartanMag.com, including Jim Comparoni's analysis of where Revels fits with the Spartans for 2025).
