Four-star RB Anthony Carrie de-commits from Michigan State
Michigan State football’s 2024 recruiting class took another hit on Nov. 20, losing a commitment from four-star Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day running back Anthony Carrie. Carrie—who had previously been committed since June—announced his de-commitment via social media.
The four-star talent committed to Michigan State over Oklahoma, Ole Miss, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Notre Dame. Alabama, Georgia, and over 40 other Power Five schools also extended Carrie offers.
Carrie visited NC State earlier this fall. The four-star running back recently told On3.com that he plans to return to NC State for an official visit.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound running back was the second highest commit in the Michigan State class, only behind four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh.
Carrie is ranked the No. 357 overall recruit and the No. 29 running back, according to the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 45 recruit in Florida.
Michigan State’s class now holds just eight commitments. SpartanMag.com projects most of the class to remain committed, at least until a new head coach is named.

Four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh remains firm, despite visits to Colorado and Georgia Tech earlier this fall. The Spartans’ next head coach will need to decide whether to retain Courntey Hawkins, which will play a major role on whether Marsh ends up in East Lansing.
Three-star cornerback Jaylen Thompson also remains solid on his commitment, eager to see who is named the new head coach. He was joined by high school teammate Keshawn Williams in the Michigan State class last month, as they look forward to playing together in the Spartan secondary.
Twin offensive line commitments Mercer and Charlton Luniewski also remain solid in their commitments, reaffirming their college plans on social media last week.
In-state linebacker Jadyn Walker has maintained his stance on committing to the Spartan program, not a coaching staff. Three-star quarterback Henry Hasselbeck was recently offered by UCLA, but currently remains committed, also waiting to hear out the new coach.
