Hazelton-Michigan-State-communication

The Michigan State secondary is more a work in progress than position groups comprising the front seven, but progress is being made according to defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton. The most noticeable area of progress to this point in training camp has been increased communications by defensive backs collectively. A year ago, Michigan State saw a serious drop-off in communication after defensive captain Xavier Henderson was lost to injury. “When you line up, it is actually starting to sound like football," Hazelton said. "Everybody is talking to each other and you are like, ‘hey, that is what it is supposed to look like. You can hear them when they line up and you are like, ‘okay, we are getting closer.’”
