With one of the toughest schedules in college football this season, Michigan State simply cannot afford the gaffes on special teams that were a nagging issue throughout the 2022 season. Between returning players in Hank Pepper and Ryan Eckley, and portal additions in Jonathan Kim and Drew Wilson, the Spartans believe that they have adequately addressed issues in their kicking game. "The kicking situation will be much improved," head coach Mel Tucker said. It has to be for the Spartans to outperform outside expectations for 2023.
