Pillar of Strength: Maverick Hansen's unwavering commitment to Michigan State shines on
Through three head coaches, teammates engaged in a tunnel brawl in Ann Arbor, injuries and suspensions that depleted the depth of his position, transfer portal departures and more than 60 new teammates, one thing has remained a constant in Michigan State’s football program for the past six years – the loyalty and commitment of graduate defensive tackle Maverick Hansen. As a result, the four-year letter winner and owner of 41 career game appearances in a Spartan uniform will begin his final season in East Lansing as one of Michigan State's five captains. An honor bestowed upon him by his teammates. An honor he cherishes as much as playing football for Michigan State since former head coach Mark Dantonio brought him into the Spartan fold back in 2019. “Man, it means the world to me,” Hansen said.
