Michigan State received its fourth commitment in their 2024 class in offensive tackle Logan Bennett of Baltimore (MD) St. Frances Academy on April 15. He is ranked a three-star, the No. 996 overall recruit, the No. 72 offensive tackle, and the No. 29 recruit in Maryland by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.

Bennett joins four-star defensive backs Jaylen Thompson of Murfreesboro (TN) Riverdale High, and Jamari Howard of Hialeah (FL) High School in the Michigan State 2024 class, along with three-star offensive lineman Andrew Dennis of Mt. Pleasant (MI). The four-man class ranks No. 22 in the country, according to the 2024 On3 Team Recruiting Rankings.

Bennett visited East Lansing on March 25 for spring practice after visiting in January as well. He also visited Maryland and Virginia Tech earlier this year. The 6-foot-6, 310-pounder was offered by Michigan State associate head coach, run game coordinator and offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic in May 2022. His other offers include Maryland, Colorado, Boston College, and more.

Bennett’s physicality and size makes him versatile enough to play tackle or guard at the next level. Michigan State will likely look to utilize Bennett on the interior, but with his strong footwork and athleticism, he could also slide out to right tackle as well.

With now two commitments on the offensive line, Michigan State and Kapilovic can afford to be flexible with their recruiting boards. The Spartans are recruiting four-star offensive tackles Nathan Roy, Fletcher Westphal, Grant Brix, and DeAndre Carter along with other tackles such as Mike Williams and Eagan Boyer. Michigan State is also in the mix for four-star offensive guard William Satterwhite.

Michigan State signed three offensive lineman in the Spartan 2023 recruiting class, including four-star IOL Cole Dellinger of Clarkston (MI), Juco transfer Keyshawn Blackstock of Coffeyville (KS), and three-star Stanton Ramil of Alabaster (AL).
