Michigan State basketball releases 2023-24 Big Ten schedule

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State basketball, which is recognizing its 125th season in 2023-24, released its 20-game Big Ten schedule Tuesday afternoon.
The Spartans’ Big Ten schedule will begin Dec. 5 against Wisconsin at the Breslin Center. That game against the Badgers is one of Michigan State’s two Big Ten games in the month of December. Michigan State will play Nebraska at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln five days later on Dec. 10.
The Spartans will then finish out the remainder of their non-conference schedule before jumping into conference play full-time starting Jan. 4, 2024, against Penn State at the Breslin Center.
Three of Michigan State’s first five games will take place away from the Breslin Center.
Michigan State will play in-state rival Michigan twice. The first game will take place at the Breslin Center on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024. The second will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Michigan State will play reigning Big Ten regular season champion Purdue just once this season, with the game scheduled for March 2 at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.
Michigan State’s senior day will take place four days later on March 6, 2024, against Northwestern.
Michigan State will conclude the regular season by traveling to Bloomington, Ind., on March 10, 2024, to take on Indiana at Assembly Hall.

Tom Izzo’s Spartans will play seven Big Ten teams twice this season: Wisconsin, Penn State, Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota, Maryland and Michigan.
That means Michigan State will play Nebraska, Indiana, Rutgers, Iowa, Ohio State and Purdue once this season.
ESPN ranked Michigan State No. 4 in its most recent Way-Too-Early Top 25 rankings from Sept. 5. Only Purdue (No. 3) ranked higher amongst Big Ten teams.
Michigan State’s 2023-24 season will tip off against James Madison, Nov. 6 at the Breslin Center.
