Michigan State basketball to host C Ethan Taylor this weekend

Michigan State and Tom Izzo are hot on the recruiting trail, as the Spartans prepare to welcome another important official visitor over the weekend in four-star center Ethan Taylor.
Taylor (7-0, 230) is the No. 25 recruit in the 2026 class, per the Rivals Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 2 center and No. 1 player from Missouri in his class.
Taylor also took visits to Oregon (Sept. 5), Oklahoma (Sept. 12), Indiana (Sept. 19) and Kansas (Sept. 26), and will head to Kentucky on Oct. 10.
Sources tell SpartanMag that Indiana and Michigan State are leading the pack at this point of official visit season. Kansas was viewed as a major player, but the Jayhawks are expected to land four-star center Davion Adkins, which could remove them from the running.

“Michigan State has made a good impression with Ethan Taylor heading into his visit this weekend. He will arrive in East Lansing on Thursday. The Spartans are one of the top contenders for him, alongside Indiana and Kansas.” On3 national reporter Joe Tipton told SpartanMag.
Michigan State holds two 2026 commitments in point guard Carlos Medlock and forward Julius Avent. Medlock will join Taylor on campus this weekend, as the pair are high school teammates at Link Academy in Branson, Mo.
Michigan State is still in heavy pursuit of four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis, four-star forward Maximo Adams and three-star center Max Meyer. Meyer will take an official visit to East Lansing during the weekend of Oct. 11.
