Michigan State received a commitment from transfer portal tight end Ademola Faleye on Dec. 12. He announced via social media after spending the weekend in East Lansing on an official visit.

The 6-foot-7 tight end out of Norfolk State will have two years of eligibility remaining. Michigan State offered Faleye on Nov. 30th, joining Buffalo, Robert Morris and others in offering out of the portal.

Faleye had nine catches and two touchdowns on 93 yards receiving in his two seasons. Primarily a blocker, he totaled four catches and a touchdown for Norfolk State this past season. The Norfolk State Spartans only had nine receptions as a team at the tight end position. Faleye may also have potential at defensive end.

Faleye is the cousin of five-star 2023 Michigan State target Samson Okunlola. The five-star offensive tackle will make his decision later this week on Dec. 15. Both prospects are from Brockton (MA).

Mel Tucker and Chris Kapilovic will continue to push for Okunlola who seems to be trending to the Florida Gators at this time. Both coaches will be at the school to see Okunlola this afternoon.

Michigan State hosted four high school recruits in quarterback Sam Leavitt, running back Jaelon Barbarin, defensive back Sean Brown, and running back Walter Samuel. The Spartans also hosted four transfers in Faleye, another tight end Jaylan Franklin, defensive lineman Tunmise Adeleye, and defensive back Shemar Melvin. Michigan State also hosted Juco offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock.

Faleye is the first portal commitment for Michigan State in the current transfer period.
