Michigan State cornerback Charles Brantley to enter transfer portal
East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State junior cornerback Charles Brantley will enter the transfer portal, he announced via social media Friday afternoon.
“I will be entering the transfer portal tomorrow just to open up my options,” Brantley tweeted.
This will mark Brantley’s second entry into the portal this year. The Sarasota, Fla., native initially entered the portal on April 30, the same day that former Spartan quarterback Payton Thorne and wide receiver Keon Coleman entered.
Brantley’s first stay in the portal lasted just under 48 hours. He withdrew his name on May 2.
Brantley started opposite Dillon Tatum in Michigan State’s first three games this fall but missed the rest of the season with an undisclosed injury. True freshman Chance Rucker took over for Brantley in the starting group.
Brantley started 11 games as a sophomore in 2022 and led Michigan State with six pass break-ups. He also logged 48 tackles, one sack and one interception.
