Michigan State corners coach Jim Salgado preaching communication this spring

After spending the last six years coaching in the NFL, Michigan State cornerbacks coach Jim Salgado has found Spartan defensive backs receptive to his message of improving communication in the secondary. “If you see me at practice, sometimes I will stand on the offensive side,” Salgado said. “I’ll do that so I can watch the eyes of the corner and safety. I know the call, but I want to see them communicate so I know that we are all on the same page. If we are all on the same page, we are going to have a chance to be successful.” In addition to harping on communication, Delgado is emphasizing sound fundamentals this spring and hammering home the importance of physicality.
