New On3 RPM Prediction: Michigan State expected to land Oregon State QB Aidan Chiles

Michigan State football is expected to land former Oregon State quarterback Aidan Chiles, sources tell SpartanMag.com. The freshman quarterback played under current Spartan head coach Jonathan Smith and his staff while with the Beavers.

As a backup to veteran quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, Chiles threw for 309 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions during his freshman campaign. The Oregon State coaching staff—led by offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Lindgren—saw Chiles’ potential and looked to give Chiles snaps early in his career.

Now at Michigan State, Smith and Lindgren made an immediate push to bring Chiles with them to East Lansing upon his entrance into the transfer portal. Chiles would be the assumed starter given the current state of the Spartans’ quarterback room.

Chiles was rated a four-star quarterback out of high school. He was also ranked the No. 160 recruit and the No. 12 quarterback in the country, according to the 2023 On3 Industry Rankings.
