Michigan State football adds Rayven Evans to recruiting department

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State football has promoted Rayven Evans to assistant director of on-campus recruiting and operations. Evans previously worked with the program as on-campus recruiting student assistant from 2021-23.
Evans graduated from Michigan State in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and management. She is currently working on her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in sport and entertainment management from Wayne State University.
Evans joins a newly-configured Michigan State recruiting department led by executive director of player personnel and recruiting Mark Diethorn, who was hired on May 1. Diethorn replaced former Michigan State general manager Saeed Khalif, whose contract was not renewed.
Evans will collaborate with Spartans’ director of recruiting operations Tyler Johnson and director of on-campus recruiting Jenna Learn.
Johnson came to East Lansing this summer after spending the previous six months as on-campus recruiting coordinator at Jacksonville State. Prior to that, she served as the coordinator of recruiting operations at Texas.

Evans – who arrived at Michigan State this summer – spent the last year working at South Florida as the football operations and recruiting coordinator. Learn began her career at South Florida as a football and operations intern.
Evans is the sixth new addition to Diethorn’s overhauled recruiting department. In addition to Evans, Learn and Johnson, Diethorn added assistant director of player personnel Sam Kukura and director of recruiting and personnel strategy Lino Lupinetti.
Diethorn also retained director of player personnel Sean Levy and promoted defensive analyst Darius Hicks to director of scouting.
