Michigan State hires new head football performance dietitian

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State football has tabbed Rachel Sachs as the program’s new head performance dietitian, according to the athletic department’s staff directory.
She will be tasked with overseeing the student-athlete’s nutrition plans, coordinating with the training staff and strength and conditioning coaches, injury recovery and prevention and additional daily tasks centered around team practices.
Sachs comes to East Lansing after a brief stint in West Lafayette, Ind., where she worked as the primary dietitian with Purdue’s volleyball, men’s and women’s swim and dive and men’s and women’s golf programs. Sachs doubled as an assistant dietitian with the Boilermakers’ football program.
Prior to her time at Purdue, Sachs worked as a dietetic intern with Florida State’s football program. Sachs earned a Master of Science in exercise physiology while interning for the Seminoles.
