Michigan State hosting top transfer portal target this weekend
Michigan State will host transfer portal defensive lineman Tunmise Adeleye over the weekend, Tunmise announced via social media;
The Texas A&M transfer is originally from Katy (TX), where Michigan State coaches Mel Tucker and defensive line coach Marco Coleman were spotted visiting recruits on Monday. SpartanMag has a hunch the coaches met with Adeleye and/or his high school coach. The Spartans were able to quickly secure a visit from Adeleye, who entered the transfer portal yesterday. Since entering, he has announced offers from Missouri, California, TCU, Colorado, SMU, and Arkansas.
Adeleye was ranked the No. 41 overall player in the 2021 class according to the On3 Consensus. He held 34 offers out of high school including Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, and others. He originally committed to the Buckeyes before eventually choosing Texas A&M.
Listed as 6-foot-4, 290-pounds on his Texas A&M profile, Adeleye redshirted his first year on campus. In 2022, as a redshirt freshman, Adeleye started the first two games of the season before sitting the rest of the year with an injury.
