Michigan State has landed a commitment from 2024 Boston (Mass.) Xaverian Brothers three-star quarterback Henry Hasselbeck. The Spartans beat out the likes of Boston College, Pittsburgh, and UAB for the 6-foot-3, 170-pound signal caller.

Hasselbeck is the son of 18-year NFL veteran and three-time Pro Bowler Matt Hasselbeck. The elder Hasselbeck played his college ball at Boston College. Landing the younger Hasselbeck over his father’s alma mater is a big win for Michigan State.

The 2024 quarterback officially visited Boston College on on June 9-11, a week after his official visit to East Lansing on June 2-4. Hasselbeck returned to Michigan State’s campus less than three weeks after his official visit for an second visit.

“I made a quick trip back to East Lansing with both my parents this time,” Hasselbeck told SpartanMag.com following the visit. “I wanted my mom to meet everybody and see Michigan State for herself.”

“It was a good visit,” Hasselbeck added. “Just like last time.”

UAB hosted Hasselbeck on an official the weekend prior to his return trip to Michigan State. The Hasselbeck family has strong ties to the UAB‘s first-year head coach, Trent Dilfer.
