Michigan State lands Texas RB Brandon Tullis
Michigan State football and the new Spartan staff, led by head coach Jonathan Smith, has remained hot on the recruiting trail, landing three-star running back Brandon Tullis, of Frisco (TX) Memorial High School. He becomes the third commitment for the Spartans in as many days, and the tenth member of the 2024 class.
Tullis announced his commitment to Michigan State via social media. He was previously committed to Oregon State, de-committing from the Beavers on Dec. 13. The three-star committed to Oregon State over offers from Kansas, California, Boston College, and others. He will now follow former Beaver running backs coach Keith Bhonapha to East Lansing, planning to enroll early in December.
Tullis (6-0, 190) is ranked the No. 1591 overall recruit in the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. He had 974 all purpose yards as a senior, logging 11 touchdowns in ten games.
“Just knowing Coach Smith and the staff along with their capability to change a program around made me want to come visit,” Tullis told SpartanMag.com after his official visit. “It met the expectations that I had especially with the Oregon State staff being there.”

The Texas running back has built a strong relationship with Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith during his time committed to the Beavers.
“Coach Smith and I have a great relationship,” Tullis said. “He is a really down to earth coach and you could easily come to him about anything. Big things are coming for Michigan State with Coach Smith at the helm.”
Tullis joins another Texas running back Makhi Frazier in the Michigan State class, as Frazier announced his commitment on Dec. 12. The pair of Texas running backs were also joined by three-star tight end Wyatt Hook who was also formerly committed to Oregon State. Like Frazier, Hook also announced his commitment to Michigan State on Dec. 12.
