Michigan State leads Buffalo, 41-30, at half; Malik Hall returns

East Lansing, Mich. – Making his return to the court for the first time since game four on Nov. 18, Michigan State’s Malik Hall led all scorers in first half of the Spartans’ game against Buffalo, Friday night at Breslin Center with Michigan State owning a 41-30 lead at the break.
Hall had 9 points at halftime on 2-of-3 shooting, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range.

Hall, coming back from a stress reaction in his left foot, looks solid with the ball and swift on defense.
Hall entered the game with 12:28 left in the first half and the game tied at 9-9.
A 10-3 Michigan State run, capped off by a Hall pull-up 3-pointer in transition, gave Michigan State a 19-12 lead with 8:17 to play in the first half.
Later, he gave Michigan State a 33-23 lead with a 3-pointer from the right wing off an A.J. Hoggard snake drive and kick off a high ball screen.

Hall played the four and the three in the first half.
Joey Hauser had 6 points and 8 rebounds for Michigan State in the first half.
Hoggard had 6 points and 5 assists.
Tre Holloman and Jaden Akins had 5 points apiece for the Spartans.
Wing guard Curtis Jones has 8 points on 3-of-7 shooting for Buffalo.
Tyson Walker’s playing time was limited due to picking up two charging fouls in the opening 4:14 of the game. Walker came back for a shift late in the first half, but logged only eight minutes in the opening 20.
Michigan State is 8-4, seeking a victory in its last non-conference game prior to the resumption of Big Ten play.
Buffalo, of the Mid-American Conference, is 6-6.
