Michigan State offers 2025 Florida defensive lineman Mykah Newton
Michigan State offered class of 2025 defensive lineman Mykah Newton, of Newberry (FL) High School on Feb. 19. The offer to Newton was an important offer as defensive line coach Legi Suiaunoa will have an emphasis on recruiting high school tackles as a need for Michigan State in the class of 2025. Newton (6-3, 255) led the Florida High School Division 1R leader in sacks with 13 on the year. He had 46 total tackles, 23 for a loss and three forced fumbles as a junior for Newberry, who went 9-3 on the season. The defensive lineman is currently unranked by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. Michigan State joins Central Florida, Florida Atlantic, Tulane, and others in extending offers. With the Spartan offer now in hand, Newton will likely see his recruitment continue to expand. Michigan State director of defensive player personnel Austin D'Armond began the communication with the Spartans. Suiaunoa closed the deal with the offer late last week.
