Michigan State will kick off official visit season starting tomorrow May 31, welcoming nine visitors for the opening weekend of visits. Jonathan Smith and company will welcome over 40 official visitors during the month of June. You can fine the full list here.
SpartanMag.com breaks down the visitor list and where the Spartans stand with each recruit headed into the weekend.
Three-star CB LaRue Zamorano, Los Angeles (CA) Centennial
Michigan State, led by cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin built a strong amount of momentum in the recruitment of California cornerback LaRue Zamorano during an unofficial visit on April 20. The Spartans will look to keep up with Big Ten foes and West Coast powers USC, Washington, Oregon, and others. Penn State is another dark horse to watch.
Zamorano (6-2, 175) is ranked a three-star, the No. 456 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 39 cornerback and the No. 40 recruit in California.
Three-star TE Jayden Savoury, Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary’s
Tight ends coach Brian Wozniak will welcome in-state tight end target Jayden Savoury for an official visit over the weekend, his fourth visit to campus under the new Michigan State coaching staff.
The Spartans have built a lot of momentum in this recruitment as well, putting a full press on with multiple trips to St. Mary’s High School, adding his teammate and Spartan linebacker commit Charles White to the 2025 class earlier this spring.
Savoury will also take official visits to Wisconsin, Kansas, and Duke in June. He tells SpartanMag.com he hopes to have a final decision after the visits.
Savoury (6-6, 225) is ranked a three-star, the No. 812 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 47 tight end and the No. 18 recruit in Michigan for his class.
Three-star DL Brad Fitzgibbon, Chicago (Ill.) Marist
Michigan State will welcome back Chicago defensive tackle Brad Fitzgibbon for his third trip to East Lansing, both the first two coming for practices in the spring. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive tackle has built a good relationship with defensive line coach Legi Suiaunoa, along with defensive coordinator Joe Rossi.
Fitzgibbon will also visit Kansas and Iowa in June, with a decision likely this summer. Wisconsin, Kansas State, and others have also offered. He is ranked the No. 963 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. Fitzgibbon is also ranked the No. 78 defensive lineman, and the No. 24 recruit in Illinois.
Three-star OL Darius Afalava, Lehi (UT) Skyridge
Michigan State will host offensive lineman Darius Afalava, following a May 10 official visit to UCLA. Afalava will then head to Oklahoma (June 7), LSU (June 14), Washington (June 21) this summer.
Offensive line coach Jim Michalczik offered Afalava during his time at Oregon State, as they have built a strong relationship. It will be a contested recruitment for Afalava, but the Spartans will look to make a strong impression on the official visit.
Afalava (6-5, 280) is ranked a three-star, the No. 444 overall recruit by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 39 interior lineman, and the No. 3 recruit in Utah for his class.

The Hawaii lineman holds other offers from Nebraska, Utah, Arizona, California, and others. He will also take official visits to Nebraska (June 21) and Utah this summer.
Kaahaaina-Torres played on the same offensive line as 2024 Michigan State offensive tackle signee Rustin Young for St. Louis High School in Honolulu. Young will enroll in East Lansing in June.
Kaahaaina-Torres (6-2, 265) likely projects as a center at the college level. He is ranked the No. 501 overall recruit in his class by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. Kaahaaina-Torres is also ranked the No. 42 overall interior lineman, and the No. 1 recruit in Hawaii.

He will also visit NC State (June 7), along with Central Florida (June 14), and UConn (June 21). Michigan State will look to build off the momentum built on the spring trip with another strong visit over the weekend.
Newton is ranked a three-star, the No. 812 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 68 defensive lineman, and the No. 96 recruit in Florida.
Three-star LB Bradley Gompers, Pittsburgh (PA) Central Catholic
Pittsburgh linebacker Bradley Gompers visited Michigan State for an unofficial visit during spring practices in March, and will return for his first official visit over the weekend. Gompers has grown close with defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Joe Rossi, who has deep connections to Pittsburgh Catholic Central, where he began his career as a defensive lineman in his playing days.
Gompers (6-4, 210) holds offers from Pittsburgh, Duke, Rutgers, Northwestern, West Virginia, and others. He is ranked a three-star, the No. 1104 overall recruit in his class by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. Gompers is also ranked the No. 75 athlete, and the No. 27 recruit in Pennsylvania.

Denman (5-10, 195) is not yet ranked by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He holds other offers from Baylor, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Utah, Arizona, and others. Denman tells SpartanMag.com he will take other official visits to Houston, California, Arizona, and Boston College in June.
